EMPLOYMENT AND LABOR LAWS
The Firm’s Labor and Employment lawyers practice represents and counsels employers in all types of matters involving both the employment relationship and labor law. It serves small to medium size businesses as well as large corporations and public employers.
Our attorneys represent these employers in a wide spectrum of labor and employment matters in state and federal court as well as before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage and Hour Division, and other federal and state administrative agencies.
We emphasize counseling and preventative employment practices by assisting clients in compliance with employment related laws and regulations such as Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act (ADEA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Equal Pay Act, the WARN Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), as well as comparable state statutes such as the Florida Civil Rights Act. We assist employers in developing, implementing and maintaining employee handbooks, policy and procedure manuals, and substance abuse programs as well as in employee relations matters that occur from day to day. We also assist employers in drafting employment contracts, confidentiality and trade secret agreements, non-competitor and non-solicitation agreements.
In addition, as employment lawyers, we represent clients in their labor relations with unions during the election phases of union campaigns and negotiation of any labor agreements, as well as in the grievance and arbitration proceedings before the National Labor Relations Board and if a public employer, before the Florida Public Employee Relations Commission.
