L. William (Bill) Porter III is an attorney in the firm’s bankruptcy and business reorganization department. Mr. Porter advises clients in restructuring and related transactions and litigation matters across Florida and the southeast. He regularly represents debtors, creditors, investors and asset-purchasers in financial restructuring transactions, out-of-court workouts and formal insolvency proceedings.

Mr. Porter has extensive experience in civil and commercial litigation representing plaintiffs and defendants in litigation matters from commercial eviction cases, to business and contract disputes, arbitrations, debt collection (all parties), and all manner of cases in Small Claims, County Court, Circuit Court, Federal and Bankruptcy Court and appeals. Mr. Porter also has extensive experience with pre-suit litigation matters, including issuance of demand letters and negotiation of settlements, deeds-in-lieu to avoid foreclosure, forbearance agreements and the like. In Bankruptcy Court, Mr. Porter has represented DIP lenders, and creditors in dischargeability actions and other contested matters, lease assumption/rejection matters, and plan and disclosure statement objections and negotiations and has worked with all bankruptcy players from panel trustees to Chapter 11 Committees, the Office of the U. S. Trustee where Mr. Porter worked for 3 years, restructuring firms, and bankruptcy estate professionals. Mr. Porter has also served as an adjunct professor at a local college teaching a course on bankruptcy and was a judicial extern to a U.S. Bankruptcy Judge during law school.
