Brandon E. Pownall is a fourth-generation Floridian whose practice spans the firm’s Public Finance and Litigation departments. He advises community development districts and other entities across Florida on governance, infrastructure, procurement, and compliance matters, while also maintaining a broad civil litigation practice.

Before joining Latham, Luna, Eden & Beaudine, LLP, Brandon served as Deputy City Attorney for one Central Florida municipality and as Assistant City Attorney for several others, where he advised elected officials on charter interpretation, land use, and public meeting compliance. He also served as general counsel to state officials and community development districts, guiding them through matters involving public finance, statutory compliance, and infrastructure development.

Brandon has represented local governments, state officials, and property owners in complex real estate, land use, and tax disputes, including litigation involving valuation challenges, code enforcement appeals, and zoning enforcement actions. His experience combines hands-on public service with practical, results-driven advocacy.

A cum laude graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, Brandon served as Articles Editor for the Florida Law Review and earned a Book Award in Agricultural Law. He received his B.A. in English, with a minor in Computer Science, from Emory University.
